HOW IT WORKS
Connecting to WiFi Network
To connect wirelessly to our network, open your wireless card utility, look for
WiFi_ToM
SSID, select this SSID and click "CONNECT". If you see several access points with
the same SSID, try to select one with
better connection. The utility should display a solid green to indicate a reliable
connection.
Registration
In order to use Town's WiFi network, you need to logon into it using a login name
and a password. You can create those by
registring as a user for the first time. The information you supply is a subject of
all State and Federal Government
regulations.
You can register either from a convenience of your home or office (recommended), or
when you are at one of the Town's WiFi "hotspots" and are connected to our wireless
network. To register, you must have a valid e-mail address so we can send
your a new login password once the registration is complete. Also - please, note, that you have only
10 minutes to complete your registration process, including
login into our network with newly created password; if you will be unable to finish during that time
(10 minutes countdown starts the moment you click on "REGISTER" button),
all the information you have entered will be deleted, and you will have to reenter it all over again.
So, the registration process is going as follows:
1 - open
"Disclaimer" link and read the page in its
entirety;
2 - select
"Create your login" from menu bar;
3 - fill out all the fields in the registration form;
4 - check
"Accept" box if you agree with terms of the
Disclaimer;
5 - click on
"REGISTER" button (10 minutes timeout!);
6 - open your e-mail program, and wait for an e-mail from
register@wifimanchester.net. You may want to periodically use "refresh" your e-mail screen to make
sure that the message has arrived. Once message is there (usually within a minute or two)
make notes of your username and the password you received;
7 - Return back to the registration page, and select
"Login" from the menu on the right panel; enter
your username and the password from our e-mail - click
"Login" button.
Password change
Once you have logged in, go back to the registration page, and click on "Change
Password" option; change the random password that had been assigned to you with the one you can rememeber.
Forgotten Password
If you forgot your password, just click on
"Forgot Password" link
on registration form, enter your username and a new random password will be e-mailed to you.
If you forgot either your username or e-mail address you gave us during initial registration, you will
have to re-register anew.

The WiFi-For-All project is supported by the Department of Information Systems at
Town of Manchester.
We do our best to address your concerns as promptly as possible, but due to a
non-commertial nature of this project we cannot
guarantee any particular
time frame.
If you experience a problem related to network access (login generation, network
login, password change, and the like) - before seeking our help, - please, read first this page once more: it may
resolve your problem much quicker.
